The Life-Light
1 1-2 The Word was first,
the Word present to God,
God present to the Word.
The Word was God,
in readiness for God from day one.
3-5 Everything was created through him;
nothing—not one thing!—
came into being without him.
What came into existence was Life,
and the Life was Light to live by.
The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness;
the darkness couldn’t put it out.
This year I have decided to art journal daily through Advent. It is my hope that some how going through the motions of being creative daily will help me understand God a little better. He is a creative God and just as he struggles with his creation I will struggle with my art journal in trying to find ways to express what Advent means to me.
Todays entry started by listening to the morning news, The camo back ground represents that there is war and strife going on everywhere, In many ways I feel there is this silence from God just as there was before the birth of Christ. I am sure that Gods heart breaks and wonders when will His creation learn that they were created to love and nurture and not hate and murder each other.
I am reminded this time of year that out of the chaos God has a plan to make things right. His plan doesn’t include Power or Violence but Love and Weakness. I hope as you journey through this Advent season to look for the light in the darkness and don’t be surprised if it shows up in ways that you would have never imagined.
